As some of you have noticed already we have added a new cross-posting and cross-commenting feature. So if you come across a story that is not particularly “local” or “geographical” and interesting to the wider community then you can post it to all the norgs.
Comments made on those stories are cross posted as well.
When you File a Story now you can find the feature there:

Don’t love it. When I look at Melbourne Norg, I’m looking for things that relate to Melbourne (or at least Victoria). Right now over the RSS feed, I’m seeing all sorts of things that have nothing at all to do with Melbourne, including a rash of stories about Indian and Pakistani politics, sports reports, and national politics.
Perhaps the pages/feeds could be further broken down to Local/National/International news, or something like that, with inappropriate stories being bumped over to the best category by moderators?
Norg has a lot of potential; it’d be good to make sure people don’t drown in stories they have little interest in.

Thanks Daniel, I’m keeping an eye on the cross feed feature to see how it evolves.
I’m also looking at some new models to get better targeted content on to the city norgs. I’ll keep you all posted.
At the moment we should be rolling out quite a significant feature in the next month and then I promise to address some of the feature requests we have from the community - including yours.
Thanks for your feedback - we do implement a lot of what our community suggests around here!
